DOXA: Life with Purpose

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Eph. 2:10

Greetings Family and Friends!

Thanks for checking out the updates on this site. I has been a long time since I've done any blogging. Largely due to the busy schedule that we keep. But hopefully I can "turn over a new leaf" (I guess that's how it's said) and try to be better at keeping everyone updated.

Family Updates

Isaiah: Growing and getting more creative everyday!

Isaiah is 3 1/2 years old now. It's hard to believe our little guy is growing into quite a handsome and smart little person. The BIG achievement that happened about a month ago is the complete toliet training of a certain little person! We are very proud of him!

Isaiah enjoys spending time with Grandma and Pop Pop in their new home here in Lower Alabama. He asks to go to their house often to go fishing with Dad (Ted) and/or Pop Pop. It sure is nice having family live 1.8 miles away from us--finally!

Isaiah is participating in a local preschool gymnastics program every week. He absolutely enjoys it and looks forward to it. We just finished Kindermusik (our second year), which we have enjoyed--we have a really good teacher.

Belle "the Baby Beauty": Laughing and learning together

Our little girl Belle (Katherine Isabelle) is growing in leaps and bounds. Although she is a little slim for a 9 month old, she is quite healthy and doing great. We FINALLY have her sleeping in her crib, no small achievement for a baby that was still being swaddled and sleeping in a cradle swing 4 weeks ago. Latest achievements include: crawling (whoa, she's fast!), pulling up on tables and things, babbling, and playing by herself. I can't believe her first birthday will be here in 3 months! I'm already making plans for her big day. Isaiah is excited about it too.

Art Update!

The Blended Beanery

Recently I got talking with the owner at this fine West Mobile establishment; and I will be hanging several pieces there soon. Prices for the work will be posted; and with every sale proceeds will be given to several local charities in the Mobile area. Please stop by and visit if you are on this side of town. Check out their website for directions and a great menu!  http://theblendedbeanery.com/

Space301

I am entering a contest called the People's Choice at a local gallery, Space301, downtown Mobile. You can view their site: www.space301.com. This time I am choosing one of my larger acrylic pieces. I'm just looking forward to seeing my piece actually hang in someplace like that. It will be available to view for the public until September.

SUMMER and FALL TEACHING COURSE

I am scheduled to teach 2 on-line courses at University of South Alabama for both the Summer Sessions and the Fall '09 semester. I taught Survey of the New Testament this past Spring for the university (my third semester teaching!). As usual both sections were max-ed out on enrollment. I hope USA continues to let me teach this course in the following year. Although I am sad I won't be in a classroom environment this year (again), I am vey gratefully to God for giving me another opportunity to do something I love and still stay at home with Isaiah and Baby Belle.

Ted: New Endevors and Updates

Check out Ted's website: www.southalabama.edu/philosophy/poston

for a complete update on all the academic "stuff" he's been working on, published, etc. We are super excited about the up-coming conference that he has put together on Coherentism. It will be in Orange Beach, AL May 11th-13th. Can't beat that, good philosophy and white sand beaches!

We would love to hear from you!

Please call, e-mail, snail mail, etc. if you have time. We would love to catch up and hear about your special and daily activities.
